Since 1917, El Dorado County Farm Bureau has worked to protect and promote family farms and ranches, and to find solutions to problems facing agriculture and rural communities.  Many of these members are your consumers or potential customers.

With over 30,000 members, California Farm Bureau Federation has a long-standing Member Benefits program that currently promotes the products and services of many regional, statewide and national businesses to our membership.

Why would a business want to be a local Farm Bureau member benefit provider?

Localized benefit partnerships are cost neutral. A local business would not pay Farm Bureau anything and Farm Bureau would not pay the business anything. Instead, the El Dorado Farm Bureau would include the local business in its member benefits website, booklets, member benefit mailers, newsletters and at events at no cost to the local business.  In return, the local business would offer a discount or package to Farm Bureau members who show a valid Farm Bureau membership card or some other proof of membership.  Current California Farm Bureau partners can be seen at https://www.cfbf.com/member-benefits/.

What is the process to explore a partnership?

Businesses simply visit with the Farm Bureau Member Benefits Manager and discuss ways that a partnership could benefit us both.  When a decision is made to create a partnership, a simple one-page agreement is signed that gives Farm Bureau permission to market that local business to its members.

What partnerships work best? Below are the primary questions the Farm Bureau asks:

Is the product or service of genuine interest to Farm Bureau members?

Companies providing products and services that consumers spend money on every year seem to be our most successful partners.  Companies who have name recognition are also successful, but it is not required.

Does the partnership offer real value to the local business and local members?

We ask that all partners demonstrate that they have competitive pricing before offering a Farm Bureau incentive.  No set discount amount is required, but this will be discussed when setting up each partnership.

Can the company offer a Farm Bureau deal for multiple years?

With 30,000 California Farm Bureau members and 250 members in El Dorado County, it can take a while to drive members your way and sometimes members take time to respond.  We have seen growth in many programs, but it requires time for people to discover a new benefit and then act on that marketing.  It is also difficult to notify everyone that a discount has been discontinued.

Farm Bureau works to secure the future of California farmers and ranchers.  We also work to benefit rural communities, where members reside.  We like to shop local and support local businesses whenever possible.  A Benefit Partnership would also qualify you to join Farm Bureau as a Business Ag Support member at $150 which is a discount of 35% over a standard Ag membership.

We would be excited to meet with you to see if  a partnership may benefit us both.  We would like to drive more members to your place of business and provide our members with a meaningful discount.
